IT’S 2019: DRINK SOME CIDER!

PEAR + APPLE CIDER PHOTOGRAPHY & DESIGN COLLABORATION

I’m so excited to share a fun little collaboration with product photos + art direction by me and a custom label design by Winnipeg designer, Ryan Poworoznik! This fun/festive/cozy winter drink recipe is the perfect thing to get through a frigid January in Winnipeg, and it was great getting to style and shoot Ryan’s beautifully designed labels.

This recipe makes approximately 2 litres of delicious, pear + apple flavoured goodness.

Without further ado: pretty photos AND a delicious recipe! Happy New Years everyone! 🎉

Here’s what you’ll need to do:

  • Core your pears and cut each one into four quarters

  • Peel and cut your orange into four quarters

  • Peel and coarsely chop your ginger

  • Combine all ingredients up to “ginger” in a slow cooker

  • Slow cook on low for 7 hours

  • At the 7 hour mark, open your slow cooker and mash up everything inside

  • Cook on high for one more hour

  • Use a cheesecloth or strainer to pour the liquid out of your slow cooker into a large pot

  • Make sure you squeeze out as much juice as possible

  • Once you’re done straining, move your pot to the stove and bring the mixture to a boil

  • Add in your maple syrup, apple juice, lemon juice, and any other spices to taste

  • Serve hot and get cozy!
